While the summer holidays present a break for normal students, sixteen-year-old Maleek Warden knows no such a luxury. If Maleek and friends are going to recover the stolen sacred items, restore the region, and stay one step ahead of the shadowmen, Maleek just may need the help of unlikely sources… perhaps from the woman whose partnership draws him more than he cares to admit.
Something is wrong with Maleek. It's not just the ancient writing spreading across his skin, nor is his unruly powers. It's something deep inside. Something cold… alive… and evil.
